Scupper
Definition
A wide, low-velocity water outlet — often a wall-mounted spout — that releases a sheet or stream of water onto the splash deck or into a basin, used as a sensory-friendly alternative to high-pressure jets.
Scuppers produce calm, predictable water flow that suits toddlers and sensory-sensitive kids. The water exits as a smooth sheet or thick stream rather than a forceful jet, so no one gets blasted unexpectedly.
Common at indoor splash pads, hotel water-play zones, and toddler areas at large spray parks. Scuppers also pair well with water-table features for hand-on flow play.
