SplashPadHub is a free national directory of splash pads and spray parks. We are designed to minimize the personal data we collect. This page explains exactly what we do and don't collect, and your rights under GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California).
What we collect
- Theme preference cookie — a small
themevalue stored in your browser to remember light/dark mode. Functional only; not used for tracking. - Vercel anonymous analytics — aggregate page-view counts. No cookies, no fingerprint, no cross-site tracking. See Vercel's analytics privacy notice.
- Optional newsletter email — only if you submit one. Used only to send the newsletter you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Submission/claim form data — only what you provide (e.g. park details, your name and email if you include them). Used to verify and publish the listing.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising.
- We do not run third-party trackers, ad networks, or fingerprinting.
- We do not build behavioral profiles of visitors.
GDPR (EU/UK) notice
Our lawful bases under GDPR Art. 6 are: legitimate interest (operating an aggregate analytics counter and a functional theme preference) and consent (newsletter signup, form submissions). We practice data minimization — we collect only what's needed and keep it only as long as it's needed. You have the right to access, rectify, port, restrict, or erase your data, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
CCPA / CPRA (California) notice
California residents have the right to (1) know what personal information we collect, (2) request deletion of personal information, and (3) opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the right exists. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
