Toddler zone
Definition
A dedicated section of a splash pad with low-pressure, low-height features designed for kids under 4, separated from larger jets and bucket dumps.
A separate toddler zone is the single biggest quality marker at a splash pad. Without it, toddlers get knocked over by older kids running through high-pressure jets, and parents spend the whole visit playing defense.
Well-designed toddler zones use ground sprays, a small bucket, sensory features (pour spouts, colored lights), and seating around the perimeter for parents.
