Splash pads are how American summers cool down. We publish in 10 languages so the families who actually use them — including the immigrant and bilingual households that make up a third of U.S. parents — can read the directory in the language they think in.
Why we ship in 10 languages
Reach plus respect. Roughly 22% of U.S. residents speak a language other than English at home, and the splash pad audience skews young, urban, and multilingual. Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Chinese, Korean, and Haitian/Cajun French communities are over-represented in the metros where splash pads cluster — Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, San Jose, the Bay Area, the New York metro, Chicago. Translating directory pages into those families' first languages is the difference between "site for everybody else" and "site that knows we're here." We treat translation as core coverage, not a marketing add-on.

Translation methodology
We start from the English source and translate with native speakers where we have them — Spanish, French, Tagalog. For the rest we use AI-assisted translation (frontier-tier models) followed by a human review pass that checks tone, idiom, and anything a tourist might trip over. Regional variants are noted in hreflang (pt-BR vs pt-PT, neutral vs Latin-American Spanish) so search engines route the right edition to the right reader. Place names and addresses stay in English to match the road signs visitors will actually see.

Q&A library is English-only.
Our 1,000+ parent-question library is currently English. The top-traffic 50 questions are next on the translation queue.
Blog posts are English-only.
Long-form blog coverage is in English. Translation lags the directory by design — we want the location data right first, narrative second.
Pad-detail pages are English-only.
Individual
/pad/<slug>pages with hours, fees, and amenities are English. State and city landing pages are translated; pad detail is the next layer down.Coverage depth varies by language.
Spanish leads (36 states), French is second (19), and the others currently cover the 6 highest-density U.S. states for that language community. We expand quarterly.
