Mercer County Park is enormous and the sprayground anchors the family-fun zone near the playground and Marina Lake. Free parking is sprawling — a rare central-Jersey gift — and there are bathrooms, picnic pavilions, and even a cafe at the marina. Pair with a stroller loop around the lake or rent a paddleboat. Central NJ humidity peaks in late July; early mornings or post-storm afternoons are best. The pad usually closes promptly at the first lightning, so radar-watch on humid days.
