Splash pad etiquette reminder card
A polished, designed card is in the works. In the meantime, here are the eight rules that keep splash pads pleasant for everyone — print this page or screenshot it for your phone.
✅ Do
- ✓Take turns at the dump-bucket and tipping features so younger kids get a chance.
- ✓Reapply sunscreen every 80-90 minutes — water-resistant SPF still washes off.
- ✓Keep snacks at a bench or table; food in the spray attracts wasps and slips.
- ✓Watch toddlers within arm's reach — splash pads aren't lifeguarded.
🚫 Don't
- ✗No shoes inside the spray pad surface — they track grit that blocks nozzles.
- ✗Don't bring glass containers — even 'shatterproof' bottles crack on concrete.
- ✗Don't use soap, shampoo, or bubble bath — most pads recirculate water.
- ✗Don't leave swim diapers on the ground; bag them and bin them.
