What does a mid-season deep clean include?
Quick answer
Mid-season deep cleans run 1-2 days and cover full pad scrub with biofilm-targeting cleaner, gutter and drain pressure-flush, filter media replacement or backwash, recirc tank empty and scrub, nozzle removal and descale, and full water dump and refill. Schedule for low-traffic weekday.
A mid-season deep clean is a 1-2 day shutdown that resets the pad halfway through the operating season. The full pad surface gets scrubbed with a biofilm-targeting enzymatic cleaner and rinsed. Gutters and drains are pressure-flushed. Filter media is backwashed or replaced β sand filters need annual media replacement or every 3-5 years for cartridge. The recirc tank or surge tank is emptied, scrubbed, and disinfected with chlorine shock at 10x normal levels. Each nozzle is removed, soaked in a calcium remover or vinegar bath, descaled, and reinstalled. The full water volume is dumped and refilled with fresh treated water. Pump strainers are cleaned. Any UV or ozone system bulbs or cells are inspected and replaced if at end of life. Schedule the clean for a low-traffic weekday and post signage 1-2 weeks ahead.
