The pitch in 30 seconds
SplashPadHub is the largest verified national directory of splash pads and spray parks in the United States — 866+ locations across all 50 states and D.C., with hours, fees, accessibility, water-system type, and parent-reported notes. Built independently by an independent editorial team, it treats splash pads as the climate, public-health, and equity infrastructure they have quietly become: nearly 98% free, drowning rate functionally zero, growing 4x–6x since 2010, and the lowest cost-per-child-hour cooling intervention a city can deploy. Free for parents. Free for journalists. CC BY 4.0.
About the team
SplashPadHub is built by an independent editorial team focused on family-first directories on the open web. The site's bilingual EN/ES coverage and 10-language international footprint are core to its mission of meeting parents in their language.
We ship independently using a small fleet of AI agents and an unapologetic bias toward verified, hyper-local data. The team is available for interviews on family travel, climate-adaptive municipal infrastructure, public-water safety, accessibility in parks, and AI-assisted directory operations. Pull-quotes from our research
Every quote below is drawn from SplashPadHub's own published research and is licensed CC BY 4.0 — quote freely, just attribute "SplashPadHub Research" with a link back to the source report. See the full pull-quote bank for additional material.
"The U.S. now hosts an estimated 5,000 to 7,000 publicly accessible splash pads — a roughly 4x to 6x increase since 2010."
"The drowning rate at splash pads is functionally zero, in stark contrast to the roughly 4,000 unintentional drownings the CDC attributes to all U.S. water settings annually."
"Splash pad density tracks heat exposure, not wealth — small jurisdictions with active municipal park programs dominate the per-capita top decile, not large Sun Belt states."
"Roughly 98% of the directory is free to the public — making splash pads functionally the most universally free public-water amenity in America."
"Splash pads are no longer a parks-and-recreation footnote. They are climate infrastructure, public-health infrastructure, and the most equitable public-water amenity America builds."
"The cooling cost-per-child-hour at a municipal splash pad is lower than any other public summer-cooling intervention a city can deploy at scale."
