SplashPadHub publishes vendor-neutral primer on splash pad equipment industry
May 8, 2026 — SplashPadHub
SplashPadHub today published a nine-section vendor-neutral primer on the splash pad equipment industry, documenting the major North American manufacturers, the typical request-for-proposal (RFP) process for municipal installations, the selection criteria parks departments apply to bids, and the operational and warranty considerations that follow once a pad is in the ground. The primer is explicitly vendor-neutral: SplashPadHub does not rank manufacturers, has not been paid by any manufacturer, has accepted no equipment, samples, or sponsored travel, and does not endorse any vendor named in the document.
The nine sections cover the manufacturer landscape (without ranking), feature-set vocabulary and what it means in a specification, water-management system options and their lifecycle implications, the standard municipal RFP timeline, evaluation rubrics commonly used by parks-and-recreation departments, accessibility specification language, warranty and service-level considerations, post-installation operating cost patterns, and the failure modes that have driven pads off-line in their first three operating seasons. Manufacturer names appear in the primer only where naming them is necessary to describe a category or capability, and every named vendor was offered the opportunity to submit factual corrections before publication.
"The splash-pad equipment industry has historically been documented through manufacturer marketing, paid-rank lists, and trade-show coverage, and parks departments deserve a vendor-neutral reference that they can hand to a procurement officer without disclosing a financial relationship," the editorial team said. "This primer is the reference SplashPadHub wishes had existed when we started the directory."
The vendors-explained primer is licensed CC BY 4.0 and is free for parks departments, civic-engineering teams, and journalists to quote, adapt, or cite with attribution. Manufacturer corrections are welcomed at submissions@splashpadhub.com.
